Summer Harvest Celebration! - August 4th, 2017
Everyone on our farm is flat-out exhausted by this time of year. Since February, we've survived Spring calving, then planting & spraying & fertilizing, then long days (and nights) of mowing & baling hay, just finally wrapped up wheat harvest, and are staring red-eyed at double cropping and more hay.
But we are thankful. Another successful, completed harvest and no limbs or lives were lost. The to-do list is slowly diminishing and we are looking forward to celebrating our hard work! We hope you'll join us!
Here's something else worth celebrating: The SAVE Farm is making progress in their mission of offering training and healing to veterans interested in joining the agricultural industry. We are excited to have retired Army Col. Gary LaGrange as our guest speaker for the evening meal. Gary is considered to be the driving force behind The SAVE Farm and will share their vision, progress, and answer questions. All proceeds from the Harvest Celebration will be donated to this cause. According to their website, The SAVE Farm's mission is:
"To provide a training farm with an adjacent clinic, assist servicemembers and veterans to transition, to find purpose and meaning in life and enable them to learn valuable vocational skills to meet the demand for agricultural ownership, employment, or other advanced schooling. Facilitate healing for those in need and place those trained on working farms."
