10/02/2026 Update - Pumpkin Rolls, Freezer Inventory Update

Our hometown Riley Fall Festival is this weekend & we think that’s a great excuse to roll out the pumpkin. I made my kiddos their favorite pumpkin muffins yesterday (recipe in pictures - they’re really good - you can tell by how gross my recipe card is), we’re making pumpkin spice cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting this morning, and we made pumpkin rolls and pumpkin pie! We also made taco cornbread casserole, lasagna, tater tot casserole, spinach-artichoke dip, shepherd’s pie, carrot cake, apple-pear-cranberry pie, and cherry pie this week.

We had more pumpkins delivered and expect more mums this morning.

9/23/2026 Update - Banana Bread, The BEST Clothespins, Bierocks Tomorrow

We made banana bread, chocolate zucchini cake, lasagna, and lots of apple pie and apple crumb pie yesterday and plan to make bierocks tomorrow. Raisin rolls, more pumpkins and mums on Friday!

A few new products arrived this week. The first one I am VERY excited about. (Not sure what that says about me?!) Rather than share my thoughts about clothespins these days (insert eyeroll…), I’ll just say this: if you are looking for clothespins that you can use for the rest of your life and your kids and grandkids will fight over one day after your funeral, these are them. (Or if you are just looking for clothespins that work…??) Lady and the Carpenter makes these from locally-sourced maple wood in Washington state. They have a linseed oil coating, SOLID stainless steel springs, and come with a lifetime warranty. Kansas farmwife approved!

We’ve also received a few more books, greeting cards, sourdough starters & kits, and these darling how-to watercolor paint booklets.

We are seeing more and more of these friendly garden spiders!

9/19/2026 Update - Bierocks, Chicken Pot Pie, Flowers & Pumpkins

We received another delivery of pumpkins and mums yesterday! Lots of very interesting stackable pumpkins, as well as “jacks”, and little mini pumpkins. Everything is priced as marked - range of $2-$18.

We are restocked on Papa Baldy’s Popcorn and we received some new books & sourdough starter kits.

We also plan to keep eggs for at least a week or two. These come from the Stanberry Amish Community in Missouri - large, brown, free-range eggs, AND they always come with this darling little quips of poetry & encouragement. $4/dozen (We plan to keep eggs as long as the local Dollar General is remodeling and will decide later if it will be a permanent item.)

9/12/2026 Update - Mums, Pumpkins, Straw Bales & a Few Cinnamon Rolls Left

We made extra, extra cinnamon rolls yesterday, and someone will be thrilled to know there are a handful left this morning!

It feels like fall this morning, and now it’s starting to look like fall, thanks to a big delivery of mums and pumpkins yesterday. Here are the sizes, prices & colors:

Officially as of 15 minutes ago, when I ate the last juicy bite with cottage cheese for my breakfast. Sigh. Bring on the pumpkin spice!

8/28/2026 Update - Sunbeckias, Celosia, & Ornamental Peppers, Freezer Update

Another delivery of fall flowers came today - mums, sunbeckias, “Twisted” celosia (these are so cool!), ornamental peppers & cordyline. We picked up pork this week - we were out of a few things, but are now restocked.

8/13/2026 Update - Cookie Dough, Chicken Pot Pie, Spin Dip

This week we made chocolate chip cookie dough, apple crisp, peach crisp, chicken pot pie, razzle dazzle pie, cherry pie, and spinach artichoke dip. We still have Idaho Peaches and local watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumbers, zucchini, sweet corn, onions, potatoes, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, and okra.

Today is cinnamon roll day! We also have banana bread and banana nut bread in the store.

7/24/2026 Update - Chicken Pot Pie, O'Henry Peaches, Banana Bread

Lots of cooking and fresh produce this week! We made Lasagna, Tater Tot Casserole (including minis), Shepherd’s Pie (including minis), Chicken Pot Pie (including minis), Chocolate Zucchini Cake, Carrot Cake, Strawberry Pie, Rhubarb Pie and Banana Bread this week. We weren’t able to get as many cinnamon rolls out this morning, but a second fresh batch of warm banana bread may suffice!

We have tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, jalapenos, cantaloupe, watermelon, O’Henry peaches, fresh dill, strawberries, blueberries, and many more of the usual fresh fruits & veggies available.

Praising God for the perfectly timed rain again this morning!

7/17/2026 Update - Bierocks, Honey, Sweet Corn & New Freezer!

We have a freezer at the store up and running again! It’s a little bit bigger than our previous one, and we are excited to be able to offer a greater variety of frozen foods. It does have a few quirks that we are figuring out - namely that the doors need adjusted to close automatically, so for now, please double check to make sure that they are closed. Thank you!

THANK YOU to all our patient neighbors who have graciously humored them as they’ve gone around town selling it. Local cantaloupe, Colorado/California peaches, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, zucchini & all the usual berries, fruits & veggies are in stock as well.

We received a new shipment of flowers on Wednesday. More shade-loving hanging and combo pots ($30-50) - and we also received sun-loving sunflowers ($10), golden mezoo ($15), portulaca ($15), and canna combos ($30). For a porch/houseplant, we have Sansevieria, AKA snakeplant, AKA mother-in-law tongue ($10).
