Lots of cooking and fresh produce this week! We made Lasagna, Tater Tot Casserole (including minis), Shepherd’s Pie (including minis), Chicken Pot Pie (including minis), Chocolate Zucchini Cake, Carrot Cake, Strawberry Pie, Rhubarb Pie and Banana Bread this week. Praising God for the perfectly timed rain again this morning!

7/17/2026 Update - Bierocks, Honey, Sweet Corn & New Freezer!

We have a freezer at the store up and running again! It’s a little bit bigger than our previous one, and we are excited to be able to offer a greater variety of frozen foods. It does have a few quirks that we are figuring out - namely that the doors need adjusted to close automatically, so for now, please double check to make sure that they are closed. Thank you!

Here’s what we have in stock right now: Mini Taco Casserole, Mini Shepherd’s Pie, Mini Tater Tot Casserole, Carrot Cake, Cherry Pie, Cherry Crumb Pie, Peach Pie, Peach Crumb Pie, Peach Crisp, Apple Pie, Rhubarb Pie, Rhubarb Crisp, Rhubarb Cake, Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, Taco Cornbread Casserole, Shepherd’s Pie, Blueberry Pie, Gooseberry Pie, and Razzle Dazzle Pie.

Adkins Apiary extracted honey last week and we are again fully stocked on local, raw honey.

We have sweet corn! $8/dozen or $0.75 each. The Trail Life boys have been working hard getting it picked. THANK YOU to all our patient neighbors who have graciously humored them as they’ve gone around town selling it. Local cantaloupe, Colorado/California peaches, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, zucchini & all the usual berries, fruits & veggies are in stock as well.

We received a new shipment of flowers on Wednesday. More shade-loving hanging and combo pots ($30-50) - and we also received sun-loving sunflowers ($10), golden mezoo ($15), portulaca ($15), and canna combos ($30). For a porch/houseplant, we have Sansevieria, AKA snakeplant, AKA mother-in-law tongue ($10).

7/10/2026 Update - Cinnamon Rolls, Fresh Produce & Freezer Update

Happy Cinnamon Roll Day! As of 8:00 p.m. on Friday, we still have quite a few left, so here’s your chance if you missed the early ones! We have some nice California peaches, local tomatoes, jalapenos, zucchini, cucumbers, & potatoes right now, and we’ll soon be swimming in sweet corn and Colorado peaches. (Info below.)

FREEZER UPDATE

Our freezer in the store is still down - we expect the new one to be delivered next week. In the meantime, here is our list of available items that we are keeping in our kitchen freezers - feel free to call me and I’ll bring them out to you! 785-443-1796

SWEET CORN

Each year, a local farmer generously donates a field of sweet corn to the local Trail Life Troop to sell as a fundraiser, which they think will begin to be ready in the next week! We’ll buy corn from them to sell in the store, but if you’d like to have them deliver sweet corn to you, feel free to fill out the form below. It is free will donation - and since everyone asks for a suggested amount, $5-10/dozen is a good range. (We will be selling it for $8/dozen in the store.) The pictures above are our boys, last year, when they were still shorter than me. *sigh

COLORADO PEACHES

Another local farm girl we love is taking on the enterprise of coordinating a Colorado peach shipment and we’re partnering with her to be a delivery/pick up point. Like the sweet corn, I’ll be buying some from her to sell in the store (and for the continued baking of peach pies), but you can order whole or half lugs directly from her. Click here for more information.

7/3/2026 Update - Mini Meals, Flowers, Local Veggies, Cherry Pie, & Fish Fry

We also made Banana Bread, Cherry Pie, Razzle Dazzle Pie, Peach Crumb Pie and Apple Pie.

FYI, we are needing some work done on our retail freezer, so it is currently empty. We do have everything listed below and plan to stay home for the weekend. If there’s anything you would like, don’t hesitate to call and we’ll bring it out to you! 785-443-1796

Finally — not Fork related — Trail Life is hosting their annual Fish Fry fundraiser in Randolph tonight! (That’s our goober dressed in the cow costume with the “Eat More Fish” sign.) Free-will donation, fish should be ready by 6:00. Their sweet corn should be ready within the next few weeks.

6/5/2026 Update - Beginning Today! "Clear The Greenhouse - Half Price Sale!"

Today begins our season-end “Clear the Greenhouse - Half Price Sale!” ALL plants are half off - we are even including our houseplants in the sale this year. I won’t list everything in this week’s delivery, but we received more of all the most popular flowers & accents, basil, melon plants and many, many LOVELY hanging baskets and combo pots. We still have plenty of nice tomato, pepper & strawberry plants. The only new plants this week were a cascading coleus (white hanging basket, now $10), the Mystic Sparkler dahlia (small round, now $10), Blueberry Tattoo vinca (now $3), and the Swizzle zinnia in red/yellow (now $3).

We received more Papa Baldy’s popcorn and Ideally Roasted coffee. We expect our first local tomatoes to arrive by tomorrow! We are so excited to have real tomatoes again! We haven’t even carried slicing tomatoes in several months because they were so expensive and very poor quality. We are in our 7th year and I’ve never seen such scanty tomato availability. After that, we do plan to keep a few large combo pots and hanging baskets around through the summer, as they are available, (and at full price.)
