Honor System Market

Welcome to our farm at The Fork in the Road! Our honor-system market is open 6:00 am - 10:00 pm for your shopping convenience. We carry home raised beef and pork, fruits and vegetables, local honey & jams, locally roasted coffee - as well as a variety of homemade food: pies, carrot cake, cookie dough, banana bread, and take-and-bake casseroles… we change it up with the seasons, so you never know what you’ll find! We bake cinnamon rolls every Friday morning - get them warm and gooey as early as 7:00 a.m. (First come, first served.)

We do not accept credit cards, but cash, check, venmo, and paypal are all accepted. We live here and are always happy to help - call anytime!

Canning Jars, Flowers, Banana Cake, Spin Dip & Chicken Soup

A lot happening this week! We’ve got an amazing sale on Ball canning jars, quart size. $10 per dozen

Potting soil arrived a few weeks ago, but we’ve added a service I’ve been wanting to for a while. If you are repotting something small and don’t want to buy a large $25 bag, do your repotting here. It will cost you about double by volume at $0.50/quart - but it’s perfect if you need just a little and appreciate the charm of not dealing with the mess at home. This pothos (et al. - I have a son who likes to “cover crop” my houseplants) had been suffering from lack of repotting - it took about 1 minute and 2 quarts!

More flowers arrived from Neosho Gardens! Pansies, violas, alyssum, snapdragons 6-packs for $4. Cold crops of cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, collards, spinach, lettuce, and Brussell Sprouts 6-packs for $4. Pansy bowls and baskets - $15. Our first combo pots - small for $20 and large for $40. These are all cold hardy and will bloom profusely until the heat really sets in. (They will not, however, survive the 13 degree low predicted - We will be tucking ours inside!)

This week we restocked Carrot Cake, Mocha Banana Cake, Spinach-Artichoke Dip, Taco Cornbread Casserole (including Minis), Bierocks, Tater Tot Casserole, Shepherd’s Pie (including Minis), and Chicken Noodle Soup Base. We also received some nice berries again!

Finally, if you have been interested in buying your meat directly from your local farmers, we have an appointment with Clay Center Locker to take butcher hogs in on March 24th. You can reserve a hog online (whole, half or quarter) and then you should receive an e-mail that will direct you to the locker’s website, which will walk you through every part of the processing instructions. Of course, you can always call or text us as well. Click here for more information.

If you’d like to hear from us specifically regarding future butcher dates, text “MEAT” to 1 (833) 265-8604 and you’ll be among the first to hear about it.
